Police Confirm Suspicion of Homicide After the Discovery of a Woman’s Body

The death of a woman has been under investigation since her body was found on Friday morning. According to police in a public press release, “A passerby discovered the body of 46-year-old Ilse Hartmann in a bush near the Zeiss Planetarium on Prenzlauer Allee at approximately 11:30 a.m.”

Authorities now believe the woman was murdered. “Initial examinations of the body, which appears to have been there for some time, suggest a homicide.” 

The police website also provides specific details about her appearance and a photograph of the deceased. The police are appealing to anyone who saw the woman and may have information on whether she was alone or accompanied in the area of ​​the park or may know the deceased’s last known location.

“The autopsy revealed that the woman died as a result of foul play,” said a spokesperson for the public prosecutor’s office on Saturday. However, he declined to provide further details for investigative reasons.
