The death of a woman has been under investigation since her body was found on Friday morning. According to police in a public press release, “A passerby discovered the body of 46-year-old Ilse Hartmann in a bush near the Zeiss Planetarium on Prenzlauer Allee at approximately 11:30 a.m.”
Authorities now believe the woman was murdered. “Initial examinations of the body, which appears to have been there for some time, suggest a homicide.”
The police website also provides specific details about her appearance and a photograph of the deceased. The police are appealing to anyone who saw the woman and may have information on whether she was alone or accompanied in the area of the park or may know the deceased’s last known location.
“The autopsy revealed that the woman died as a result of foul play,” said a spokesperson for the public prosecutor’s office on Saturday. However, he declined to provide further details for investigative reasons.
